I have never called anyone in my life and asked him to make a supportive statement, or to remove an opposite statement, this is unacceptable to me, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told journalists, thus responding to the accusation according to which Budu Zivzivadze, a football player of the Georgian national team, was demanded to remove his opinion expressed about the protests.

As Kaladze mentioned, he will never make players get involved into politics and make political statements.

"This question that you are asking me shows that you are a violent person that would do it. You are the perpetrators of all evil, all filth, that man can think of. I am not addressing you personally, I am talking about the radicals who are represented in the country today as the opposition, their supporters. I have never called anyone in my life and asked him to make a supportive statement, or to remove an opposite statement, this is unacceptable to me. I don't have a friendly and brotherly relationship with Budu Zivzivadze, but there are players in the national team with whom I have a closer and friendlier relationship. I have played with many of them, we were teammates, and none of them can say that I have ever asked any of them for anything, to show political support, or to make a statement supporting me, even during elections. I will never make players get involved into politics and make political statements", said Kakha Kaladze.

For information, football player Budu Zivzivadze said that it is very alarming to see when one person is hit by ten people at rallies. Later it was revealed that he asked several editors to remove this statement, since "there is no need for too much hype" before the European Championship.
