We are also concerned, outraged by the fact that there has been a campaign of lies going on all this time - this is a common campaign of lies because no argument can be presented why transparency can be bad - I think there will be many people who will evaluate the real situation, even the law on transparency, - Georgian Dream Secretary General Kakha Kaladze said while responding to the letter sent by US Vice President Kamala Harris to Salome Zurabishvili.

According to Kaladze, no arguments were presented as to why the law on transparency may contradict European values.

"We are also concerned, outraged by the fact that a campaign of lies has been going on all this time. I can directly draw parallels regarding the health condition of Saakashvili, what campaign of lies and evil was going on against the country. It is the same today. This is the usual false campaign because no argument has been presented why transparency can be bad or why it can be against European values, the European future. Believe me, we are the team that will do everything on the path of European integration.

For us, there are principles that we are not going to deviate from, and this is the interest of the country, its tomorrow. We will not give anyone the opportunity to have the same situation in the country, which unfortunately is happening in Ukraine today. We have seen all this and know how much trouble war brings. We do not want our country to sacrifice all this for the interests of another country.

We are good friends and partners. It is not limited to words. Even today we are ready for friendship, cooperation, partnership. But it should be mutual", said Kakha Kaladze.

In addition, Kakha Kaladze responded to the expected sanctions and noted that this is just “threats and blackmail".

US Vice President Kamala Harris sent a letter to Salome Zurabishvili.

"President Biden and I are watching the developments in Georgia with great concern. The adoption of the draft law on foreign agents by the parliament may threaten Georgian democracy and undermine Georgia's relations with the United States and Europe," reads the letter.
