The law of foreign agents is one issue, but the main point is that the Georgian government is moving away from the European path, they have announced it publicly, - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna told reporters in Brussels.

"We were in Georgia together with the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Iceland, and the situation is really, really worrying. The law of foreign agents is one issue, but the main point is that the Georgian government is moving away from the European path, they have announced it publicly. So, today we will also raise the issue of Georgia, that the EU should act, be clear about the answer, because we have given the Georgian government benefits, it concerns visa-free travel, any kind of support, as well as the official status of a candidate country. So, we will also consider the situation related to Georgia, because the Georgian people want to join the European Union, and the Georgian government has promised this not only to the people, but also to the European Union. The EU support for this road is not a gift, because the Georgian government must fulfill the nine conditions of the agreed road," said Margus Tsahkna.

According to him, the government of Georgia should now continue to move as agreed with the European Union and the Georgian people.

"First of all, what we want is that we want to get an overview of the nine steps from the commission, as well as prepare reactions. I mean both the status of the candidate country and personal sanctions, if possible, as well as the possible suspension and revision of the visa regime. So, as everything given to the government of Georgia was not a gift, the government of Georgia should now continue to move as agreed with the European Union and the Georgian people," said Margus Tsahkna.
