FM: EP President is Georgia's true supporter

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili believes that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola was “very interesting.”

 

“Roberta Metsola is a true supporter of our country. She and the PM had an interesting conversation touching on Georgia’s European future, the most significant outcome, which our country received with the European Commission’s decision last December.

 

Traditionally, the EP President got interested in further process on how Georgia advances on the EU integration path. The conversation focused on the efforts made by the Georgian government and how the PM plans to make concrete steps in the future.

 

Our main message was that Georgia will continue this important process to the final EU membership. It was an interesting and friendly meeting and we received strong support for Georgia’s European future,” he said.
