Jailed ex-president says he is symbol of anti-corruption movement

“In front of you sits a man who was and is a symbol of the anti-corruption movement in the world. Holding trials against me is not only mocking at me but mocking at Georgian people and the whole world,” said jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili.


Saakashvili said he keeps only suits from the period of his presidency, he has nothing else but suits and even has no home.


“The expenses of the current government, the prime minister, and the president are kept confidential for some reason. I used to spend the same on things as they do. Why their expenses are kept secret and mine is not anymore?” he inquired.
