In the last three months of last year (October, November, December) within the framework of readmission, consent to return to Georgia from EU countries was granted to 971 persons.

 

According to the statistical data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a total of 978 applications for readmission were reviewed in the mentioned three months, of which 971 were approved, and 7 were rejected.

 

It should be noted that the decision to return to Georgia the most - 565 citizens - was made in Germany. followed by France (166); Greece (38); Poland (37); Italy (2); Switzerland (25); Spain (17).

We remind you that the agreement between Georgia and the European Union "on the readmission of persons living without permission" came into effect on March 1, 2011. On the basis of the agreement, Georgian citizens living illegally in the territory of the European Union are returned to Georgia. The agreement also provides for the return of citizens of third countries to Georgia based on the conditions established by the agreement. According to the agreement, all transport costs related to readmission and transit to the border of the final destination state will be reimbursed by the requesting state.
