Politics should be kept as far away from business as possible. Both should jointly develop the country, but independently as much as possible. This is also one of the European rules, - the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, said during a meeting with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in Orbeliani Palace.

As the President noted, the more independence and freedom there is, the better business will develop.

"Politics should stay as far away from business as possible. Both should jointly develop the country, but independently as much as possible. This is also one of the European rules. There are examples in the world when big business and politics are not separated from each other, but the more independence and freedom there is, the better business will develop. This is what I can wish you," the President said.

In addition, the President explained that the standards needed for the EU market to accept our product should be more accessible.

"I know that those of you here do not even need to explain how much this country needs to get closer to Europe, and at the end of the road, to join the European Union. You are representatives of the Georgian business, the future and development of which depends, on the one hand, on close relations with various EU countries, as well as on their entry here. In theory, we have the opportunity to export our products, but in reality we all know that in practice it is not used as much as it could be. More funding is needed, more support is needed to meet EU standards. The standards needed for the EU market to accept our product should be more accessible. All this needs to be spread more and businesses should be informed", the President said.
