Georgia is eager to overcome the challenges and join Ukraine and Moldova as a EU candidate country by year-end and to become an integral part of the European family, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has tweeted, responding to the statement of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen about the expansion of the European Union.

 

The President thanks the European Commission President for her statement and notes she is dedicated to making this perspective into a reality.

 

According to Salome Zurabishvili, the Georgian nation, which shares the values of the European Union, will also share its future.

 

"President von der Leyen, thank you for your speech that sets a clear vision and path for tomorrow's Europe.

 

Georgia is eager to overcome the challenges and join Ukraine and Moldova as a EU candidate country by year-end and to become an integral part of the European family.

 

As the President of a country dedicated to making this perspective into a reality, I'll spare no effort.

 

The nation, which shares the values of the European Union, will also share its future”, Salome Zurabishvili tweeted.

 

For information, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the place of Ukraine, Western Balkan countries, Moldova and, in the future, Georgia is in the European Union - the European Union should prepare for the accession of more than 30 states by the year "2030+".
