Irakli Kobakhidze: We could have passed this law, we withdrew the draft law exactly when the state showed its resources

The revolutionary plan would fail anyway. The state had the full resources to continue the process, we could have passed this law. We withdrew the draft law exactly when the state showed its resources, - said Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairman of Georgian Dream.

 

Kobakhidze noted that "the only reason for withdrawing the bill was that there was a risk of serious provocations from the other side, which could put the health and life of even one person at risk."

 

"You saw that we only took minimal measures, proportional force, only water cannon, sprays and appropriate gas, no tough force against the protesters, even though there was very brutal violence from the other side, completely non-European violence. The state showed its resources, and the Government announced the withdrawal of the draft law at the exact moment when it showed everyone that it had the ability to manage the processes. The reason was the only one - there was a risk of serious provocations from the other side, which could put the health and life of even one person at risk. We did not allow it. I will say once again that this was a scene from the Caucasian Chalk Circle", - said Irakli Kobakhidze on Imedi.
