SSG Head meets GID co-Chair

Grigol Liluashvili, Head of the Security Service of Georgia (SSG) met Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Crisis in Georgia and one of the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions (GID).

 

The sides reviewed the current situation on the occupied territories, security challenges, and illegal borderization.

 

They accentuated the issue of unlawful detention of Georgian citizens and their unconditional release.

 

Grigol Liluashvili stressed the significance of Geneva International Discussions and the role of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in ensuring stability across the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL).

 

The need for intensification of international negotiation formats and effective use of their potential was underscored at the meeting.
