Giorgi Vashadze: I will not support the candidacy of Levan Ioseliani for the Ombudsman’s position, I think he should withdraw his candidacy

I say directly that I will not support the candidacy of Levan Ioseliani for the Ombudsman’s position. I think he should withdraw his candidacy, Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Builder, said while talking to journalists.

 

According to him, the candidacy of Levan Ioseliani for the Ombudsman’s post is aimed at covering the so-called agents' bills.

 

"When the Russian law is discussed in the Parliament, if you are called the opposition, you cannot nominate yourself for the Ombudsman’s post. All the more so since you have hardly carried out any rights protection activities, at least the activities required to be done by the candidacy of the Ombudsman. On the one hand, the Russian law will being discussed, and on the other hand, he is putting forward his candidacy in order to somehow help Georgian Dream cover the issue of the Russian law. I think it is a very bad action. I hope that this person will understand this", said Vashadze.
