National Platform of Georgia calls on Parliament to reject the process that is harmful to the European future of Georgia

The National Platform of Georgia criticizes the draft law on transparency of foreign influence.

The National Platform of Georgia believes that the adoption of the law will most likely become the reason for the refusal of the EU candidate status for Georgia.

The National Platform of Georgia calls on the Parliament to reject the process that is harmful to the European future of Georgia.

"We appeal to the Parliament to promptly reject the process that harms the European future of Georgia.

We declare with full responsibility that the adoption of the law will most likely become the reason for the refusal of the EU candidate status for Georgia. This was pointed out unambiguously from the highest European tribunes.

No one has the right to take steps that are directed against the vast majority of Georgian citizens, the Constitution of Georgia, and the international obligations undertaken by the country.

The adoption of the law and, accordingly, the anti-Western step will have serious consequences for Georgia, not only in terms of hindering political and democratic development, but also in terms of shaking the country's defense and security systems, sharply reducing economic, including foreign investments, and aggravating the social condition of citizens.

It is natural that each Member of Parliament will be responsible for the future of each citizen of the country, the Georgian nation.

We are ready to take part in discussions, including in the Parliament, to explain our position on the level of principles regarding the extent of the damage of the process and the necessity of its timely completion, and thus to use a large or small opportunity for the positive, pro-Western development of the country," reads the statement.
