Tengiz Tsuladze: If Mikheil Saakashvili's weight loss continues and it drops below 52 kilograms, he will die

01.02.23 16:40

If the patient's [Mikheil Saakashvili] weight loss continues and it drops below 52 kilograms, he will die, Tengiz Tsuladze, a member of the med council set up by the Public Defender, said at the trial regarding the postponement of the sentence or release from the sentence for the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to him, Saakashvili's weight loss at such a rate is "very bad".

"If the patient's weight loss continues and the mass index falls to 14, that is, the weight falls below 52 kilograms, he will die. When we saw this index, it was 20 or 21", said Tengiz Tsuladze.

In addition, Tsuladze answered the lawyer's question whether he would assess Saakashvili's condition as serious and noted that "where there is a mention of cachexia, the situation is serious".

"Cachexia is more severe than dementia. We counted the calories and saw that he was getting 400 calories. To maintain vital functions, 1100 calories are necessary for him. However, in general, a person with such a complex should take 1800-2000 calories," said Tengiz Tsuladze.
