No one is trying to shift responsibility to anyone - if the prisoner does not receive services, the only person responsible is him for his health, the Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, said regarding Mikheil Saakashvili.
According to Okhanashvili, Saakashvili is a privileged prisoner.
"He is being offered various services. The penitentiary, all relevant agencies are involved to provide all the services he needs, but the second question is - if this prisoner is deliberately not receiving services, then what should be done, or will he receive these services abroad? Or on what basis does someone say that he needs to be transferred abroad and that he cannot be offered the necessary service here. I have not heard the answers to these questions. This is a sad whim, attempts to create a political agenda, more likely by his party representatives than by him. Remember that this man himself said he has no doubts about the poisoning.
If the prisoner does not receive the service, he is the only person responsible for his health, and there is no mechanism to offer the service under coercion. No one is trying to shift responsibility to anyone, no one has to shift any responsibility to anyone. All state agencies are involved, 24 hours a day, all the services needed for his health are provided. He is a privileged prisoner, that is a fact, if his health needs, medical services should be provided, all prisoners should be provided, however, this person is even more privileged, he is not in a penitentiary, he is in a medical facility, and since his health is a priority for all relevant agencies, all the services are being provided to him," Okhanashvili said.
