If Mikheil Saakashvili's case ends badly, be sure that the doors of the European Union will also close, not because they support Mikheil Saakashvili personally, but because they will tell us - if you kill a president in prison, what do you want in Europe?! Such a thing has not happened even in Russia, Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Builder, said on PalitraNews TV.
As Vashadze stated, today he himself is going to visit Mikheil Saakashvili in order to personally receive information about his state of health.
"I am a member of Parliament and I want to visit Mikheil Saakashvili. The only purpose of this visit is to see his health condition and to visit him as a human being, to encourage him," Vashadze said.
In addition, according to Vashadze, if Salome Zurabishvili considers herself the President, she should use the pardon mechanism to solve the political and state issues in the country.
"Why does the President have the right to pardon according to the Constitution?! In order to use it in similar situations. When justice cannot provide justice and is not impartial, you should use the pardon power," Vashadze said.
According to the opposition politician, two ideas are fighting each other in Georgia today - this is the idea of a strong Georgia and on the other hand, the idea of Russia's satellite Georgia.
"Today, two ideas are fighting each other in Georgia. This is the idea of a strong Georgia - a member of the European Union, NATO, an economically strong Georgia, with ambitions, and on the other hand, the idea of Russia’s satellite Georgia. This is the idea of an unhappy, provincial Georgia, which should have no ambition, which should not be a member of the European Union or NATO, which will be a façade and there will be no court, no rule of law, no economic progress, our citizens will be fleeing abroad, and Russian citizens will be replacing them. These two ideas are in conflict with each other and here is the choice - Europe or Russia. Georgian Dream has chosen Russia.
Why does Georgia not have candidate status for the European Union today?! Who is to blame for the fact that Moldova received it and we didn't? - Georgian Dream is to be blamed. Let's recall what steps were taken - the first was a political decision, a very bad position with regard to Ukraine, which was actually a hostile attitude towards Ukraine. The second was not carrying out reforms, but carrying out counter-reforms in order not to get the status - passing the law on wiretapping, arresting Nika Gvaramia, redoubled attacks on MEPs, redoubled attacks on our partners. As a result, the following questions have emerged: "If you want to be with me, why are you cursing me, why are you accusing me of lying?" Vashadze said.
