One of the main "near-Kremlin" ideologues and propagandists, a representative of the Armenian lobby in Russia, Semyon Baghdasarov, calls for a new war of aggression against Russia. One more time, against the countries of the South Caucasus and for a complete takeover of the region. And, moreover, jointly with Iran.
Semyon Baghdasarov declared that the South Caucasus "must be returned", as Russia has invested "a huge amount of funds and human lives" there, on the air of TV programme "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov":
"The South Caucasus should be given back again. We have a right to do this, we have invested a huge amount of money there for two hundred years, a huge amount of human lives; I repeat, more than 200 thousand Russian soldiers and officers have died during all these years. We cannot say: world peace, now do what you want. Nope, that is not the way to go. The time has come for other absolutely different solutions: tough, concrete. Gingerbread, carrot doesn't work. Carrot, carrot, stick works. But for that to happen, we have to consolidate our capabilities with Iran. Iran is also not interested in a NATO structure in the South Caucasus., - urges Baghdasarov on the Kremlin's main propaganda resource.
It has been confirmed that the next direction of Russian aggression could be Georgia, as Kavkaz Plus has already written about in a piece by the Russian telegram channel "General SVR": "We are talking about the "liberation" of Georgia and the "rescue" of Armenia, as well as a voluntary and forceful takeover of the Republic of Belarus". (https://kavkazplus.com/news.php?id=38419 ).
Recently the Kremlin's activity in the South Caucasus has increased dramatically. The other day the Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin visited occupied Abkhazia. And immediately after that the separatist media started spreading information about "impending aggression from Georgia" and "planned terrorist attacks of Georgian security services". That is, it is very likely that the matter is to organize a provocation, which will be a "justification" for the new aggression of Russia against Georgia.
However, to capture Georgia and the entire South Caucasus, Russia will need to somehow find resources for this. After all, almost all combat-ready forces of the Russian Federation are already deployed to Ukraine, including those from the South Caucasus (the Russian military bases in Gyumri, near Tskhinvali and Gudauta are half-empty, the peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh is "depleted").
Not coincidentally, all political scientists and military analysts say that while suffering one defeat after another in its aggression against Ukraine, the Kremlin leadership today is doing everything to achieve a truce and "freeze" the war on the Ukrainian front in the current positions. The purpose of such a "freeze" is to free up military resources for a new "small victorious" war, as the Kremlin suggests. Clearly, the Kremlin needs a boost to Putin's shaken credibility as a result of the Ukrainian defeats. In the Kremlin's mind, this could be done by analogy with the aggression against Georgia in 2008 and the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
In other words, it is again about a new aggression against Georgia and "saving Armenia" in the interests of Armenian nationalists and revanchists. The Armenian propagandists have already started to "ideologically treat" Russian society by "justifying" the need for such aggression, as evidenced by Semyon Baghdasarov's latest speech.
