As a result of the strong wind, several trees fell near the King Tamar bridge, in the area of ​​the right bank of the Mtkvari river, due to which traffic in the area is disrupted.

 

Representatives of the relevant service of the Tbilisi City Hall are on the spot, cleaning the area from the remains of fallen plants near the rock. As Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Irakli Bendeliani told IPN, the road will be fully opened soon, after the area is cleared of fallen trees.

 

"I would like to emphasize that there was no landslide in this area. Only the trees fell. As for the rock protection measures, protective nets are made at the beginning of the ramp, where the rock falls most often, as well as in the last section. There is periodic monitoring. If additional locations are identified, we will immediately set up nets there as well," said Bendeliani.

 

In addition, according to him, as a result of the strong wind, several more trees fell across the city, although the work on all the reported cases is ongoing intensively.
