As it turned out, the American Embassy not only falsified the results of the parallel vote tabulation through one of its favorite NGOs, but also financed a fake media campaign in order to artificially delegitimize the elections - Georgian Dream does not have the courage to confront the Americans and to take an important step for the country and society, reads statement released by the public movement People's Power.

According to their statement, the coverage of the 2020 and 2021 elections by the media outlets belonging to the radical opposition was financed by the largest American donor organization - NED, and "everyone remembers the aggressive fake campaign about the alleged rigging of elections, which the radical opposition carried out through its media".

According to the statement, the media outlets belonging to the National Movement have become the main tool for the spread of the so-called liberal ideology in Georgia.

“It is interesting that the largest American donor organization of Georgian NGOs - NED financed the coverage of the 2020 and 2021 elections by media outlets belonging to the radical opposition. Everyone remembers the aggressive fake campaign about the alleged rigging of the elections, which the radical opposition carried out through its media. As it turned out, the American Embassy not only falsified the results of the parallel vote tabulation through one of its favorite NGOs, but also financed a fake media campaign in order to artificially delegitimize the elections. It is interesting that, in order to present the elections as falsified, NED not only financed relevant programs, but even directly paid salaries to journalists of radical opposition TV stations.

We will repeat once again that as a result of the media coverage built on lies and hatred, our country and society are suffering from the worst disease, however, we are categorically forbidden to heal from this disease. Georgian Dre­am does not have the courage to confront the Americans and take an important step for the country and society. We think that this is an issue on which we should tell the truth to the public and hear from it an assessment of whether lies and hate speech are a form of expression that deserves absolute protection.

In this case too, only the People’s Power equipped with the truth can protect the country from the harm that poses special risks to the sovereignty and security of our state," reads the statement.
