PM chairs 2022 vintage preparatory meeting

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili chaired a preparatory meeting for the 2022 vintage at the governmental administration.

 

At the meeting, it was emphasized that both the state and the private sector of winemaking are fully ready to conduct the harvest in an organized manner. They discussed the specific measures, the implementation of which is necessary for an organized and successful harvest.

 

It was stressed that with the support of the state, all viticultural farmers will be able to sell their crops, and at the same time, the dynamics of the stable development of the viticulture and winemaking industry of recent years will be maintained.

 

The meeting participants noted that the vintage coordination headquarters will be opened on August 25 in the city of Telavi and will traditionally work 24 hours a day. According to the government’s decision, the subsidy to winegrowers will continue this year as well. Regarding the mentioned issue, specific details will be announced at the next government meeting.

 

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia, Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili, Chairman of the Parliament Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee Davit Songhulashvili, Majority MP of Telavi, Akhmeta, Kvareli and Lagodekhi attended the meeting.
