Theoretically, it is possible to review the procedure for electing the chairman of the Central Election Commission, but today this issue is not being considered, Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament, told journalists.

Okhanashvili emphasized that at this stage there is no talk of any kind of legislative change within the team regarding the procedure for electing the chairman of the Central Election Commission.

"There is a rule, according to which, the President submits candidates for the positions of the CEC chairman and members to the Parliament for election, and then the Parliament makes a decision. The said rule remains in force and at this stage we are not going to make the rule a subject of discussion. Theoretically, any rule can be changed. Theoretically, it is possible to discuss it someday - today this issue is not being considered", said Anri Okhanashvili.
