Georgia has managed to create an atmosphere of absence of hostility - recognition of Armenian politician

In an interview with Noyan Tapan TV channel, Ruben Mehrabyan, Armenian politician and political analyst and member of the governing council of the For the Republic party, very positively assessed both Georgia's role in establishing peace in the South Caucasus and the fact that there is no inter-ethnic hostility in the country itself:

From around 43 minutes onwards Ruben Mehrabyan talks about the importance of the first meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan precisely in Tbilisi, because it was a meeting 'without Russian eyes and without Russian ears'. The political analyst expressed the hope that this meeting would not be the last. Ruben Mehrabyan also noted that the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities in Georgia live among themselves absolutely peacefully sometimes in the same settlements.

In this speech, referring to the peaceful settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Ruben Mehrabyan correctly assessed that the current authorities in the Kremlin are not interested in such a peace. However, he also repeated some of the Armenian nationalist myths, saying that 'Azerbaijan should not act as an executioner towards Armenia'.

Here Ruben Mehrabyan, without fully realising it himself, has struck a major "string" which is being played by nationalists and provocateurs, sowing enmity, setting up separatism and redrawing borders. These are myths about "genocides" and the fact that nations cannot live peacefully side by side. As soon as there is no "overseer" or "peacekeepers" from the former empire, one nation or even part of a nation will immediately become an "executioner" against another nation and stage a "genocide".

Even during the current Russian aggression in Ukraine, this false thesis is in fact being exploited. Kremlin propaganda assures ordinary people that the war in Ukraine is being waged ostensibly to protect the "Russian-speaking population" from the "evil Banderovites". Who, if the Russian Federation had not come with the war, would certainly have carried out a "genocide".

These propaganda roots can be seen with the naked eye. All the more so because it is organised by members of the same nationality who have been telling horror stories about the mythical "Armenian genocide" for decades. At the same time, while instigating the war, the same "genocide fighters" simultaneously call for strikes on peaceful Ukrainian cities, as the same Margarita Simonyan is already doing.

In other words, the scheme is the same as the standard one. Armenian nationalists started to introduce it into the public consciousness in the post-Soviet space at the beginning of the Karabakh conflict. First, it is argued that people simply cannot live together. If they are not territorially separated and separatist, one people will organize a "genocide" against another. In addition, falsified history is compiled. Where one people is presented as "ancient", "cultural" and "indigenous", and the other as "barbaric" and "alien".

Then there is provocation. Hatred is stirred up and things get bloody, to the point of war. And then real genocide and ethnic cleansing take place. As in Khojali, Sukhumi, Bucha..... But this is not called genocide by "genocide fighters".

But for centuries the nations have lived together peacefully. And now they are getting on well, as the same Ruben Mehrabian himself acknowledged with regard to Azerbaijanis and Armenians in Georgia. Until provocateurs and separatists start their activities, no one even suspects that one people can act as "executioners" against another. Armenians and Azeris live side by side in Georgia, they can live peacefully anywhere in the South Caucasus. In Karabakh, for example, if we put an end to aggressive nationalism and separatism once and for all.
