Investigation Service arrests one person who promised a citizen that in exchange for money he would have employed him on a high position in the public service

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of attempting to fraudulently misappropriate large amount of money belonging to someone else, for the purpose of unlawful embezzlement, reports Investigation Service.

 

"Investigation determined that the accused person contacted one of the persons and persuaded him, that in exchange for money he would have employed him on a high position in the public service. With the mentioned criminal intent, the accused received USD 5 000 from the citizen, during which he was detained by the representatives of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia," reads the statement.

 

According to the agency, accused pleads guilty to the crime. Investigation on the case is being continued under the third part, paragraph “b” of Article180, Article 19 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
