According to Viktor Kipiani, the lawyer of ex-PM Bidzina Ivanishvili, the problem with the transfer of money to Bidzina Ivanishvili has been partially solved.
As he noted on PalitraNews TV, when Ivanishvili is restricted from accessing and disposing of his assets, this can be considered a de facto sanction.
"Partially resolved, partly continues. In one of the broadcasts, I used such formulation, I said actual sanctions, and I proved this by the fact that when a person is restricted from accessing and disposing of his assets, these are tacit, factual sanctions. This accurately reflects the condition in which he finds himself today. I think we can limit ourselves to this answer to this dispute," Kipiani said.
According to him, a difficult and complex dispute is going on with the participation of a Georgian citizen, Bidzina Ivanishvili, in which the justice may prevail.
"When our fellow citizens are caught up in such a global, financial institution, perhaps this fact itself leads to more solidarity and more compassion on our part, because for the first time a precedent can be set when the justice prevails and the creator of this justice is our fellow citizen and member of our society," said Kipiani.
According to the lawyer, he has no reason to believe that Bidzina Ivanishvili is an obstacle for Georgia on its way to European integration.
