Stranded citizens evacuated from Mtskheta-Mtianeti Municipality

Border Police helicopters are evacuating the citizens stranded in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Municipality as the heavy midnight rainfall caused road blockage.


The citizens are being evacuated from the villages of Korsha, Roshka, Barisakho and Chargali, the Georgian Interior Ministry reports.


Midnight yesterday, swelled Tergi River damaged the 136th km of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road (Georgia–Russia border), Roads Department said, adding that the traffic will resume once road repairing works are done.
