"Everyone has the right to express his opinion in his personal space, no one can touch it, but at the same time we must remember that we have a great responsibility, we have a lot of supporters and we must properly realize this responsibility," said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

He said the interests of the country are paramount and supreme and he called on his team members to act only in the interests of the country and the people.

"Yesterday Kakha Samkharadze posted a statement on his personal page. I made explanations about this yesterday. This is his personal space, freedom of speech and expression is protected in the country. I may not like something, someone may like it, someone may be more angry, someone less so, but freedom of speech and expression, especially in private space, is inviolable.

However in general my request would be, first and foremost, to my team members to remember that we have a much greater responsibility. We must all remember that the interests of the country are paramount and supreme, and we should act only in the interests of our country and our people. So let’s all take this into account. I do not want anyone to think that I am acting as a mentor. I repeat everyone has the right to express his opinion in his personal space, no one can touch it, but at the same time we must remember that we have a great responsibility, we have many supporters and we should properly realize this responsibility," said Kakha Kaladze.

The comment comes a day after Samgori District Head Kakha Samkharadze insulted the participants of the June 20 rally on the social network.
