The decision on unification of “South Ossetia” with Russia requires consideration of all factors, including the geopolitical situation, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrei Rudenko.

 

He said that the decision would require the participation of both parties.

 

"First of all, we will look at how the citizens of South Ossetia are voting in the referendum and therefore we will wait for the reaction of the Russian Federation. A combination of facts is to be taken into account, including the current geopolitical situation, the issue of timeliness and appropriateness of this decision today," Rudenko said in the Russian Duma today.

 

According to him, Russia will monitor the preparation for the referendum in "South Ossetia".
