Romanian FM: We believe that Georgia's place, as well as that of Ukraine and Moldova, is in the EU - we are ready to support this process

Romania is one of the biggest supporters of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic perspective. We believe that Georgia's place, as well as that of Ukraine and Moldova, is in the European Union, because they belong to the European family, Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Lucian Aurescu said before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.

 

"I think granting membership status to all three countries is important because it is not the end of the process, it is just the beginning of a very important process and these countries need a guide for reform. It will then be up to each country involved in the process to decide whether this path will continue. We, Romania, are ready to support this process. We think decisions are needed and this momentum should not be lost. It is important that a decision be made as quickly as possible. After that, it will be up to these countries to continue on this important path and we will be there, by their side, to support them," said the Romanian Foreign Minister.
