Roman Gotsiridze, one of the leaders of the United National Movement, says that the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, should be sent abroad for medical treatment, thus Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and former chairman of the Georgian Dream, will win the hearts of Western partners.
As Roman Gotsiridze stated on PalitraNews, otherwise Bidzina Ivanishvili "will regret very much."
"The main thing is to transfer him on time, so as not to damage his health and make it impossible to cure him - as soon as he is able move physically and it is possible to transport him. The Gori precedent should not be repeated, the untreated person should not return to prison again. Urgently, in a few days, as soon as Mikheil Saakashvili is able to go abroad, he should be let go for treatment. Otherwise, Bidzina Ivanishvili will regret it and then he will remember what was one very important factor of his bad fate that he expects. With this step, he will win the hearts of our western partners to some extent," Roman Gotsiridze said.
The opposition MP also commented on the statement of Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream, who did not rule out that the decision of the Swiss bank to delay the transfer of money to Ivanishvili's company was "the result of coordination."
According to Gotsiridze, "Ivanishvili will not be forgiven for what he had been forgiven" and he is a candidate for sanctions.
"Everyone knows that he had been forgiven for 10 years, but oligarchy is dead, it is over. The notion of the oligarch in political life is so toxic that Europe will soon eliminate the oligarchy introduced by Russia and post-Soviet countries, including Georgia, Ukraine, and so on. The era of oligarchy is over.
Ivanishvili will not be forgiven for what he had been forgiven. Sanctions are expected to be imposed on him. It is a very stupid legend that the West, the US, the opposition want to drag Georgia into war and Ivanishvili does not do that and that this is a reason for which he is being punished," said Gotsiridze.
