I have to say a strange thing, I will take responsibility for the non-existent crimes, if someone is to be sent to prison, let it be me, the founder of the Mtavari TV, Nika Gvaramia, addressed the judge of his case, Lasha Chkhikvadze.
Gvaramia spoke in detail in his final speech, in which he addressed his family members, the Mtavari TV, Bidzina Ivanishvili and the judge.
“I want to address the Georgian society, help my big family – television. I have no other request, now we are in a lot of trouble, my absence from television will aggravate this problem, I ask everyone, all businessmen, all Georgians, for whom freedom is important. I want to address everyone – never address Salome Zurabishvili, who is called the President, with a request related to me, this is my categorical request. A non-free person cannot give freedom to a person fighting for freedom. No Georgian patriot can get freedom from a person who said that we started the war and bombed sleeping Tskhinvali," said Gvaramia.
“If you are not going to acquit innocent Nika Gvaramia, it would be better for Nika Gvaramia to be in prison, I am telling Bidzina Ivanishvili this," Gvaramia said.
Nika Gvaramia is accused of embezzling a large amount of property rights belonging to Rustavi 2, commercial bribery and forging official documents, as well as legalizing illegal income. Nika Gvaramia is also accused of abuse of office.
