Irakli Kadagishvili on Davit Arakhamia: In the end, friendship will prevail, but actors with such evil intentions manage to sometimes set bad precedents on the path of friendship

I am sure that in the end, friendship will prevail, but actors with such evil intentions manage to sometimes set bad precedents on the path of friendship, Irakli Kadagishvili, a Georgian Dream MP, stated in response to Davit Arakhamia, the head of the Ukrainian delegation in talks with Russia and the chairman of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Ukrainian party Servant of the People.

According to Kadagishvili, Davit Arakhamia's statements played the role of self-lustration, and he in fact confirmed that "he is an ally and coordinator who unites the war party National Movement and such part of the Ukrainian government."

According to Kadagishvili, Arakhamia is engaged in straining relations between Georgia and Ukraine so that the relations are not normalized.

"As soon as the visit of the Georgian parliamentary delegation to Ukraine marked the end of all these misunderstandings, we immediately saw the UNM's separate visit and the statements made as a result of this visit, where they once again, baselessly and damagingly accuse Georgia of supplying Russia. In these conditions, if anyone is interested in straining and ruining the relations between Georgia and Ukraine, it is Russia. Arakhamia's statements and actions serve this. It would be good if the Ukrainians themselves realize that such statements damage the relations between the two countries. Georgia is honest and sincere in its relations with Ukraine," Irakli Kadagishvili said.

Kadagishvili also talks about Davit Arakhamia's Russian connections and notes that he had a Russian passport.

"The people appointed by him, including in the law enforcement agencies, had Russian passports, in connection with which there was a lot of agitation in the Rada at different times. He seems to know the Kremlin's working style well. He shouldn't blame us for anything," Kadagishvili said.

Davit Arakhamia explained on Mtavari TV why he did not meet with the Georgian parliamentary delegation in Kyiv. As Arakhamia noted, after the statements made by them, he did not consider it necessary. According to him, he had an impression that the representatives of the Georgian parliamentary delegation support Ukraine in an artificial manner.

"After the statements they made, I could not see the point of seeing these people at all. I went to meet with the opposition party because I knew their position was different. Before that, I was reading our foreign intelligence assessment, watching those who made statements. I had an impression that a government delegation arrived to take photos in Bucha's background, say a word or two of consolation, and show that they are somehow involved in the process.

In order to be actually involved, they have to comply with the sanctions that the whole world imposes on Russia. The whole European Union says they do not want the Russians to open bank accounts and Georgian banks are happy to open accounts for them. Russian businessmen are opening and registering businesses in Georgia," said Davit Arakhamia.
