It is important that while we have a national problem in the form of Ivanishvili's regime, we have communication channels to work out what the society is ready for and what steps should be taken after the change of regime, European Georgia leader Giga Bokeria told reporters after meeting with US congressmen and senators.

 

As Bokeria noted, the subject of discussion with the American side was what steps the opposition was going to take and where the help of the country's partners would be needed.

 

"It is very important for Georgia that despite the devastating effects of the Ivanishvili regime, by inertia and the merits of our society, we remain important to our partners. We need a lot more attention, but we have to use what we have. This delegation, especially Senator Coons, reflects the political line of the current administration. Therefore, it is important that while we have a national problem in the form of Ivanishvili's regime, we have communication channels to work out what the society is ready for and what steps should be taken after the change of regime to protect our freedom. What steps the pro-Western political spectrum is going to take, and also, where we need the help of partners - was the subject of discussion, so this visit is objectively very important," said Giga Bokeria.
