Georgian Finance Minister meets IFC Acting Regional Director

Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and IFC Acting Regional Director Damien Shiels Wednesday held a meeting over the future cooperation and the IFC-backed ongoing projects in the country.

 

The meeting anew highlighted the IFC’s role in the country’s development process, including financing of both public and private sectors, the Finance Ministry has said.

 

Alluding to the Georgian economy, the sides noted that the country managed to keep reforms despite the pandemic, pledging the process to continue.

 

Khutsishvili and Asakawa also stressed the importance of holding the planned annual ADB meeting in Georgia – initially slated for 2021 but moved to 2024 due to the pandemic. They also expressed hope that the country would continue reforms in various areas.
