I do not understand why Papuashvili says that there is no resource for new sanctions, there is and we will have a bill on this, Khatia Dekanoidze, the chairwoman of the faction National Movement told journalists.

Dekanoidze said that Georgia, like other countries, could impose sanctions on specific individuals, such as members of the Duma and representatives of business circles in the occupied territories, as well as those involved in hostilities from Russia.

"We are partially part of sanctions, but that does not mean that we can not join sanctions in terms of imposing them on certain individuals, such as all members of the Duma, people involved in hostilities from Russia, and representatives of business circles in the occupied territories. These are multidimensional sanctions. Therefore, I do not understand why Papuashvili says that there is no resource for new sanctions, there is and we will have a bill on that. As for disinformation, Ukraine has long banned channels that broadcast Russian propaganda. We do not have a policy in Georgia, for example, regarding Alt-Info, which is financed directly from Russia. We do not have a policy that would be directed against propaganda and the hybrid war on the territory of Georgia. It is unfortunate that it is the Government that often spreads such propaganda, hybrid-war-promoting information on social networks, so it is important to understand what our Ukrainian colleagues are asking us to do.

As for the genocide, it must be given a legal assessment, as Biden said, the agencies will soon start working on the legal part of genocide, so it is fundamental that our position, in the Georgian parliament and in the state, in general, be legally strengthened - that what is happening in Ukraine is a genocide," Dekanoidze said.

Dekanoidze also positively assessed the arrival of the parliamentary delegation in Ukraine and noted that it is important to continue cooperation between the two countries.

"My assessment is that it is good when the parliamentary delegation arrives in Ukraine, it would be good if this visit is reflected in bilateral cooperation and not in what we unfortunately saw in the statement of the Speaker of Parliament today," Dekanoidze said.
