Shalva Papuashvili: UNM and Mikheil Saakashvili were not discussed in Ukraine in any way - we agreed on the main thing, we have to look ahead

"The United National Movement and Mikheil Saakashvili were not discussed in Ukraine in any way," said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, answering the question whether the issue of Mikheil Saakashvili was discussed during the face-to-face meeting in Ukraine.

According to him, the National Movement was one of the reasons for the turmoil in Georgian-Ukrainian relations, as they often try to create misconceptions about Georgia, so bilateral communication is important to avoid misunderstandings.

"In both the closed and the open part, there was one mood and one wave, the desire to end the misunderstandings. We have agreed on the main thing, we have to look ahead, the brotherhood and relations of our countries are important, especially in this situation, we must look forward to avoid such a situation in the future, the solution is direct communication.

Of course, the National Movement is one of the reasons for the turmoil, and among them, the Ukrainian society may also have a misconception about Georgia, the faces of the National Movement are actively seen in the Ukrainian media and their main task is to portray the country badly in the eyes of the Ukrainian people and play down Georgia's solidarity with Ukraine. Disinformation is a hard tool that is difficult to refute, so sometimes they reach their goals to a certain level," Papuashvili said.
