What does the Baghramyan Battalion fighters do in Ukraine?

24.03.22 12:00

Meanwhile, it has become known that ethnic Armenians living in Abkhazia are volunteering for the war on the side of the Russian occupants in Ukraine. Among the volunteers are members of the Abkhazian war. We are talking about the fighters of the notoriously brutal Baghramyan battalion that slaughtered Georgian population of Abkhazia mercilessly during the war in 1992-1993.

It is worth mentioning that "Baghramyan fighters" also took part on the side of Armenian occupants in the 44-day war in Karabakh in Azerbaijan. A detachment of such fighters was personally met and received by separatist leader Araik Harutyunyan at the end of the war.

However, the fighters from Abkhazia did not distinguish themselves in Karabakh with special "feats". There is an understandable reason, as they are able to engage in marauding, torture and mockery over the civilian population, killing of civilians. But they are of little use in military actions. After all in 1992-1992 Abkhazians and regular Russian army that were deceived by Armenian nationalists were fighting with the Georgian army. Well, the Armenian fighters in Abkhazia were more "at war" with old women and children.

However, during the 44-day war in Karabakh fighting took place in previously occupied Azerbaijani territory from which the occupants and separatists expelled the civilian population in 1992-1994. That's why there was no "use of experience" and special "work" for militants-marauders of Baghramyan's battalion in Karabakh.

The contemporary war after Russia's aggression against Ukraine is a different matter.  There are all signs that the aggressors set their task as the maximum "cleansing" of the occupied territory of Ukraine of the Ukrainian population. According to the data of March 23, 2022, from the beginning of the war more than 10 million people became refugees as a result of military actions out of the population of 40 million people of Ukraine, and more than 3.5 million Ukrainian citizens were forced to leave their country.

However, not all Ukrainians want to leave their native land, even at the risk of being killed by shelling and bombing by the occupiers. The civilian population largely remains in their homes and where the occupiers pass, even though they do everything to "squeeze them out. Towns and villages where Russian occupation troops come, are left without electricity, water, heat, food supplies are not delivered there, pharmacies have no medicine etc. But even such inhumane living conditions often cannot force Ukrainians, especially villagers, to leave their homes.

That is where the occupants most likely needed punishers from among the Armenian fighters, who already had experience of looting, killing and torturing civilians in Abkhazia, Georgia. If these monsters could kill in cold blood their neighbors with whom they lived next to for so many years and constantly talked about "Armenian-Georgian friendship", then what to say about the inhabitants of Ukraine, which for the nationalists of the "most ancient people" are also "savages and barbarians" like the Georgians, Abkhazians and other peoples.

Therefore, the Russian occupants are likely to involve Armenian fighters in punitive actions against the civilian population to make them flee in order to save their lives, just as over 300 thousand Georgians were expelled from Abkhazia in 1992-1993. It should be taken into account that ordinary Russian soldiers are not morally ready for ethnic cleansing. At the same time, the Armenian fighters expect to loot and steal as much valuables as possible in Ukraine, and possibly seize "trophy" houses for themselves and their relatives in the coastal areas.

Only the Ukrainian army can make "adjustments" to the plans of the marauding guerrillas of the Baghramyan battalion. And many of them will find a nameless hole in Ukrainian soil when they go to kill and pillage on foreign soil.
