Third President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is responding to the ongoing rally in front of the Ministry of Culture.

"If I could, I would definitely join the rally of our intellectuals and decent, honest citizens in front of the Ministry of Culture. What a misfortune we are in.

Nika Rurua was the Minister of Culture and his door was always open to even the most critical opponents.

I remember how he was offended by the unfair criticism of the Bagrati issue, but his only response was to mobilize additional arguments and dialogue, even more dialogue," Mikheil Saakashvili says in a statement posted on Facebook.

A protest rally of representatives of political parties and civil activists is taking place in front of the Ministry of Culture. They are protesting against the dismissal of employees from the field of culture, in particular, from the Art Museum, and claim that these people were fired by the Minister of Culture on political grounds.

According to them, a petition has been drawn up demanding the resignation of Minister of Culture Tea Tsulukiani.
