According to Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyer Giorgi Mshvenieradze, Saakashvili has not been able to consult a personal doctor since the day he was transferred to the Rustavi Penitentiary, which is why they are going to take legal action against the Penitentiary Service.
According to the lawyer, the application for admission of doctors has been submitted many times, and it is also necessary to conduct an MRI examination, on which many doctors have expressed their opinion.
"President Saakashvili has not been allowed to consult a personal doctor after being transferred to the 12th penitentiary in Rustavi. It is a gross violation of the requirements of the law, his disease is connected to neurological problems and requires a medical response. Significant examinations need to be done, on which the penitentiary system is still silent. So today we will discuss these issues with President Saakashvili and start a legal response from next week.
The application has been submitted several times, including on January 3, regarding the admission of doctors. As for the MRI examination, many doctors, including the members of the council established under the auspices of the Public Defender, have expressed their opinions on this," said Giorgi Mshvenieradze.
