26.07.19 14:40

Up to 40 houses, built in the 19th-20th centuries, will be restored in Georgia’s eastern, mountainous town of Dusheti.

The Georgian government says that 24 of the 40 houses have the status of cultural heritage.

"The project is financed by Georgia’s Municipal Development Fund with more than five million GEL [$1.7 million],” the government’s press office reports.

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, Minister of Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili and other state and regional officials visited Dusheti earlier today to mark the launch of the project.

The place will be one of the most beautiful ones in Georgia when the work is completed. Ongoing and planned projects will make Dusheti more attractive and interesting both for the local population and tourists,” Bakhtadze said.

The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2020.
