New "bogeyman" of the Armenian lobby - "The Great Turan"

20.11.21 12:00

The Armenian lobby in the Russian Federation no longer has a clue how else to pit Russia against Turkey and destroy the very fruitful Turkish-Russian cooperation. Any excuse is used for this. For example, on November 12, 2021 another summit of the "Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States" (Turkic Council) was held in Istanbul, which approved the Concept of Turkic World until 2040.

The council is now called the Organization of Turkic States. It consists of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, with Turkmenistan and Hungary as observers.

Semyon Baghdasarov, a well-known political provocateur and rabid Armenian nationalist in Russia, decided to use the creation of the " Organization of Turkic States" to stir up anti-Turkish sentiment and Turkophobia. He chose an interlocutor who would "sing along" with him - Yevgeny Satanovsky:

Bagdasarov and Satanovsky were very indignant about the fact that, for example, Russia (more precisely, Rosatom) is helping Turkey to build a new NPP, modern and safe. But they did not say a word about the fact that Rosatom threatens the safety of all mankind, prolonging the resource of what has long ago exhausted itself. The question is about the illegal expansion of the Metsamor NPP in Armenia, which not only doesn't give Russia any economic dividends, but also represents huge threat, and not only for Southern Caucasus, but also for the Near East and for Russia itself. Metsamor is the future Chernobyl!

As to the alleged "threat" of Turkey's cooperation with Turkic countries and peoples, we should remind Mr. Baghdasarov that cooperation of ethnically close countries and peoples is a very common thing in the modern world.  Basically, nothing prevents Russia, for instance, to create "Slavic Council" by analogy.

But that' the thing is that because of the Armenian lobby that supported separatism everywhere to create precedents such as "Artsakh" and because of "brilliant diplomat" Sergey Lavrov-Kalantarov Russia managed to quarrel with Slavic countries, including the closest Ukraine. And if Turkey does not step on that rake and does not quarrel and conflict with ethnically close countries and peoples, then what is wrong with it? We should just learn and take the best from the experience of such cooperation.

Naturally, there is another nuance here - the Armenians themselves are not part of the Slavs. Therefore, the Russian Federation's "Slavic cooperation" is lame. The Armenian well-wishers may also have their "merit" in this. They are jealously watching Russia to focus solely on the interests of "the most ancient and long-suffering people", which is parasitically sucked into a vast country and does nothing but cause it enormous geopolitical harm, quarrelling with its neighbours, and the closest ones both spiritually (Orthodox Georgians) and ethnically (Ukrainians).

Another Armenian ideologist in the Russian Federation is a "geopolitical expert" and author of the articles "The Great Turan", "Ukraine - Armenia - Russia - the third world war? (The very titles show their provocative nature) Arbak Khachatryan also inflated the alleged "Turkish threat" in an interview with Argumenti Nedeli:

"Your forecasts about Russia's over-reliance on Turkey possibly leading to the creation of a 'Great Turan' army and the unification of Muslim peoples have come true: the Turkic Council Leadership Summit was held in Istanbul, which transformed the Turkic Council into the Organization of Turkic States. Why did this happen?

We cannot blame just Russia; there are some reports that Armenia also contributed to the formation of Turkish statehood: Armenia is allegedly responsible for the rise to power of the Young Turks. Today, Turkey is a winner, and the amateurs at the head of Armenia are also to blame - people who lack basic political knowledge - people who continue the "work" of their ancestors.

So the strengthening of Turkey, the formation of the "Great Turan" army and Erdogan's resuscitation are to blame both for the amateurs at the head of Armenia and for some Russian "businessmen" who own joint business with the Turks and work for the benefit of Turkey...".

Regarding "dilettantes at the head of Armenia", this is a clear allusion to Nikol Pashinyan, whom revanchist nationalists accuse of insufficient "belligerence" towards Turkey and Azerbaijan.

However, Turkey's real policy completely destroys all the "scare stories" of the Armenian lobby. Thus Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was recently on a visit to the Moldovan capital of Chisinau, where he met with the Moldovan Foreign Minister Niku Popescu and declared his full support for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Cavusoglu also emphasised that the Gagauz Autonomous Region, an integral part of Moldova, is a bridge of friendship, giving strength to Turkey's relations with Moldova:

"Maintaining dialogue and cooperation between Chisinau and Comrat is important for the prosperity and stability of both Moldova and the region.

Moldova has taken legislative measures to ensure the functioning of autonomy, and we appreciate this. We have always stressed that our support for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity is complete. I would like to reiterate our support for a peaceful resolution of the Transdniestrian conflict within the framework of Moldova's territorial integrity". – Turkish foreign ministers said.

Everything is clear and straightforward. Turkey has been and remains committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states, including those inhabited by Turkic-speaking peoples, and it does not intend to "tear apart and divide" any of them. Including Russia. Naturally, this does not exclude cultural and economic cooperation with the Turkic regions of other countries, but with respect for territorial integrity and respect for the inviolability of borders.

Thus, all the fears of the Armenian lobby about the "Great Turan" which they say is "coming" and "will lead to the collapse of Russia" are a complete bluff.

Support of separatism in Georgia (Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region) in particular, and in Moldova, where we recall that the so-called "independence" of the separatist Transnistria, as well as "independence" of separatist Abkhazia and so-called "South Ossetia" was recognized by the Armenian separatist so-called " Artsakh", will rather lead to Russia's collapse.
