The results of Saakashvili's tests are disturbing. The bilirubin enzyme is also critically elevated, which impairs liver function, - Beka Basilaia, Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyer, said after visiting the former president of Georgia in Rustavi prison.

 

According to him, the statements of the Penitentiary Service that everything is in order are a complete lie.

 

"This is not our interpretation. Yesterday we saw that it became necessary two doctors, out of the system, to enter - a pulmonologist and a cardiologist. This means that the penitentiary service can no longer manage the patient's condition and Mikheil Saakashvili needs to be urgently transferred to a private clinic, as the recommendation of the council, the conclusion of the Public Defender, demands for several weeks. Since then, Saakashvili's situation has worsened. At the same time, we have heard that council visits should be frequent and be every other day. This means that Mikheil Saakashvili's health condition is alarming and visits of the council will not improve this condition. The only thing that is vital for his health is urgent hospitalization", - Basilaia said.
