Public Defender of Ukraine calls on foreign countries and international organizations to condemn the actions of Georgian officials

Ukrainian Rada High Commissioner for Human Rights Ludmila Denisova met with Mikheil Saakashvili's mother Giuli Alasania and her lawyer.

 

According to "Ukrinform", the Commissioner wrote about it on the social network "Telegram".

 

"I met with the mother of Mikheil Saakashvili, the chairperson of the Executive Committee of the National Council for Citizen Reform of Ukraine, Giuli Alasania, her Ukrainian lawyer Evgeny Grushovets and the Ukrainian MP Elizaveta Yasko", - Denisova wrote.

 

According to her, Saakashvili's mother is worried about the health of her son, who has been on hunger strike for 34 days and has lost 20 kilograms. She fears that prolonged hunger could have irreversible consequences for his life and health.

 

The commissioner called on the Georgian authorities to respond immediately to Mikheil Saakashvili's health condition and give him the opportunity to receive professional medical care at a medical facility.

 

"The absence of medical assistance is contrary to Article 3 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms", - Denisova said.

 

She called on foreign countries and international organizations to condemn the actions of Georgian officials who, as she said, violate the rights of Mikheil Saakashvili, a citizen of Ukraine.
