“There was an electoral revolution in Georgia on October 30 – people defeated authoritarianism at the ballot box. Now we have a post-election revolution ahead, which will determine the results of the election revolution!” ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

Khatia Dekanoidze, a member of the UNM party, shares Saakashvili’s viewpoint on keeping the MP mandates, saying the government wants to cut off all communication channels between the ex-president and his supporters.

“Bidzina Ivanishvili wants Saakashvili to be in full isolation. We have to use all mechanisms against the regime,” Dekanoidze stated, adding Ivanishvili’s regime deprived Saakashvili of his right to civic hospitalization.

Khatia Dekanoidze believes the ex-president could be released if Georgian society and the international community put “serious pressure”. However, Saakashvili’s stance is no longer an issue for the ruling party.

Chairman of the GD faction Mamuka Mdinaradze said Saakashvili’s statements are no longer engaging. Society demands the government to work and implement more reforms. “Saakashvili should be left in the past. We must not follow his agenda,” Mdinaradze claimed.

Law enforcers arrested Mikheil Saakashvili in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on October 1 and sent him to N12 Rustavi prison. Ex-president has been on a hunger strike since the very first day of his arrest.
