The ballot recounting process was completed successfully. The data of the 201 polling stations have been recounted - the counting did not affect the preliminary results of the second round, - the spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Natia Ioseliani said at the briefing.

According to her, the recount process was transparent and could be monitored by all authorized persons - both the media and observer organizations.

As the spokesperson noted, the detailed results of the recount will be published tomorrow, November 2.

"The process of recounting the ballots was completed successfully. The data of the 201 polling stations have been recounted. The process was conducted in a transparent manner, which could be monitored by all authorized persons - both the media and observer organizations and representatives of election entities. We have seen today how high the public interest in recounting was, and the active involvement of the authorities also significantly ensures the transparency of this process.

The recounting procedures based on electoral reform showed us after the first round how this contributed to the transparency of the process and, in general, to the improvement of the electoral process. Based on the preliminary analysis, at this stage we can say that the recounting did not affect the preliminary results of the second round. The election administration will present the detailed results of the recount tomorrow, November 2,” the CEC Spokesperson said.
