According to the Minister of Health, Ekaterine Tikaradze, she will instruct the Regulatory Agency to re-examine the 18th penitentiary institution.

 

The Minister of Health, Ekaterine Tikaradze, stated this in a conversation with journalists, thus responding to the statement of the Public Defender, Nino Lomjaria, regarding the transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili to the 18th penitentiary institution.

 

As Tikaradze explains, if the institution does not meet the requirements for Mikheil Saakashvili, then other patients are at risk and it is important for her to protect the patient's interests equally.

 

For information, the Public Defender's representatives examined the degree of readiness of the N18 institution for the possible addition of the third President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. According to the ombudsman, the inspection revealed that the situation in the facility in terms of medical care does not fully comply with the conclusion and recommendations of October 23, 2021 issued by the multifunctional group of doctors, and there are also certain safety risks.
