Baby twins die of coronavirus

Baby twins infected with coronavirus, who had been treated in the intensive care unit of the Beaumonde clinic in Kutaisi, have died.

 

The twins had been treated at the medical facility for more than a month.

 

According to the clinic, the babies had pneumonia.

 

"The twins were born with respiratory distress syndrome. Both of them were infected with coronavirus at birth and developed Covid pneumonia. The whole department was fighting for their lives 24 hours a day. However, unfortunately, we could not save them,” said Marina Baratashvili, head of the neonatal intensive care unit at Clinic Beaumonde.
