Over 98 per cent of Covid-infected to be unvaccinated, Health Ministry reports

Georgian Health Ministry analyzed the data on the Covid-19 infected patients. According to Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia, over 98 per cent of the hospitalized coronavirus patients have not been vaccinated. There are single cases of hospitalization among fully vaccinated individuals.

 

Gabunia reported that surge infection is more evident in the regions, although no jump-rise is observed in Tbilisi or Adjara region. Gabunia said it would take two weeks to see the results of tightened regulations.


The Deputy Minister further reported that Georgia expected recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) about immunization of persons aged 12 and above. “In any case, immunization will be voluntary,” Gabunia claimed.

 

Gabunia also added that the resumption of the in-class education process would be greenlit depending on the epidemiological situation in the country.
