From today until September 4, the traffic of municipal transport was restricted. The decision was made by the Interagency Coordination Council.
The Council's decision was communicated on August 12 by Giorgi Ghibradze, the head of the operational staff of the Interagency Coordination Council.
"I will inform you about the decisions made at today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council. As you know, as in the rest of the world, the epidemiological situation in Georgia is difficult, mainly due to the wide circulation of new strains (delta strain).
Based on the analysis of epidemiological indicators and trends, the Coordinating Council, despite the intensification of the immunization process in August, considered it necessary to impose so-called non-pharmaceutical interventions and, in particular, to impose certain restrictions.
According to the decision of the Coordinating Council, from August 14 to September 4, for 3 weeks, the following restrictions will apply:
Municipal traffic will be restricted. The restriction does not apply to intercity transport;
Festivals, entertainment events, concerts and sports competitions will be fully restricted; Children's entertainment centers will also be restricted;
The operation of food outlets, instead of 00:00 pm, will be allowed until 23:00 pm; Public agencies are instructed to shift employees to remote work as much as possible, and the Board makes a similar recommendation to private employers;
Brigades of military physicians will be involved in the vaccination process to maximize and increase access to vaccination; In the conditions of restriction of municipal transport, the state ensures regular transportation of the population to the main vaccination facilities;
The Ministry of Health continues to work on the mobilization of extra beds; Control over the enforcement of existing regulations will be tightened as much as possible, including the holding of social events such as weddings, funerals, etc. I remind you that for hosting such events, the facilities will be fined 10 thousand GEL, and in case of repeated violations - will be subject to sealing;
In addition, at today's meeting of the Coordinating Council, the head of the National Center for Disease Control recommended that from September, in restaurants, spas, fitness centers and similar facilities, persons should be allowed if they are vaccinated for one time or have a full course of vaccination, or if they have negative PCR taken during the last 72 hours or rapid antigen test of the last 24 hours. The council will discuss the issue and the public will be informed about the decisions made", - Ghibradze stated on August 12.
