Kavkazplus has already written about the danger that training camps of separatist militants in Samtskhe-Javakheti, for which during the telethon has already collected money among the American Armenian Diaspora, may pose a danger to state security of Georgia. However, in reality the situation is even worse.
This is not advertised anywhere, but for at least 5 years, beginning in 2014, the Armenian “Javakhk” separatist militants have been intensively trained in Azerbaijani-occupied Karabakh occupied by Armenia. That is what follows from the revelation of one of the separatists, Edgar Gushchyan, on his Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1667303116881988/permalink/2399995020279457/), to which Facebook page refers to Armenians of Georgia.
Information translated into Russian:
“From July 2 to 8, 2019, a group of 5 students from the“ Javakhk Student Union ”visited“ Artsakh ”, in the annual student camp of the Armed Forces of Armenia of Yerevan State University (YSU) - in“ Artsakh ”.
Since 2014, the YSU Student Council and the Center for Student Issues of YSU have organized a camp in the army, and during these years, students from Javakheti who study at universities in Armenia are trained here. Thanks to this program, participants get acquainted with the life of the army, live for 7 days as soldiers, joining army life. ”- writes Edgar Gushchyan.
Firstly, it should be noted that all students from Samtskhe-Javkheti who study in universities of the Republic of Armenia have Georgian citizenship. Thus, it turns out that, at the suggestion of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Armenia and the Yerevan State University, the citizens of Georgia are not only illegally located in the occupied territory of friendly Georgia, Azerbaijan, violating Azerbaijani legislation on the occupied territories, but in fact - in the ranks of the occupying army. This is unacceptable at all.
But most importantly, in fact, military training of potential separatist militants is taking place. After all, it is no secret that students from Samtskhe-Javakheti are consciously handled by Armenian special services in the spirit of nationalism and anti-Georgian separatism, and as it turns out, they train in army camps in occupied Karabakh in full swing.
There is a great danger that the skills that “Javakh” separatists will gain in the occupied Azerbaijani territories of Karabakh can be applied against Georgia in the very near future. Preparations for the separatist rebellion in Samtskhe-Javakheti “according to the Karabakh scenario” are in full swing.
Recently, the leaders of the Armenian “Javakhk” separatists do not conceal their hostility towards Georgia. Moreover, in the conditions of exacerbation of Russian-Georgian relations, propaganda in the Russian media and on TV channels of the separation of Samtskhe-Javakheti from the united Georgian state has sharply intensified.
The danger for Georgia, the already existing system of training militant separatists in occupied Karabakh, cannot be underestimated.
Recently, the Armenian “Javakhk” separatists pompously installed a monument to the militant separatist Mikhail Avagyan under Akhalkalaki, who fought in Abkhazia and Karabakh. And before our eyes, a new generation of Mikhail Avagyans’ is being prepared, which will fight not only in Abkhazia, but also in Javakheti against Georgia.
