The opposition will nominate Giorgi Sioridze for the position of CEC Deputy Chairman

The opposition will nominate Giorgi Sioridze for the position of the CEC Deputy Chairman, - "Girchi" MP Sandro Rakviashvili told journalists about it.

 

As he noted, Sioridze will be represented by 5 parties ("Lelo", "Strategy Builder", "Citizens", "European Socialists", "European Democrats"), however, he has the support of large part of opposition parties.

 

According to him, the candidate of the "National Movement" and "Strategy Builder" were also considered for this position, however, finally, they agreed on the candidate of "Lelo" - Giorgi Sioridze.

 

"After two days of negotiations, we have agreed on a candidate in Girchi's office who will be supported by a large part of the opposition. 5 parties will nominate him today and I hope the whole opposition will support him and he will be elected by consensus. All parties were involved in the negotiations, including the National Movement, the negotiations were constructive", - Rakviashvili said.
