According to Mayor Kakha Kaladze, everyone in the country has the right to freedom of expression and speech, but distorting the appearance of the capital is a violation of the law and it is a punishable act. The mayor of the capital thus responded the emergence of posters against the National Movement, activists and media representatives in the Tbilisi streets a few days ago.
As Kaladze noted, Tbilisi City Hall will have an appropriate response to any fact of distortion of the city's appearance.
"Distorting the appearance of the capital is a violation of the law and it is a punishable act. Every person in our country has freedom of expression and speech, for which there are many means and forms. This is what we all achieved in 2012, but it is inadmissible, in complete disregard of the law and the rules, to put up posters on the buildings, to paint or make inscriptions. Tbilisi City Hall has had and will have to react to all such facts, so as not to distort the appearance of the city," - said Kaladze.
According to him, in recent days, there has been an attempt to discredit the City Hall and its staff.
"All violators will be fined. For me personally, it is also unfortunate that due to the recent fact, there was a deliberate attempt to discredit the City Hall, its staff. It is simple - why does Kakha Kaladze need disorder and chaos, aggression?! My team and I are not used to fighting with these methods,"- said Kakha Kaladze.
